Body Work Edition
Talk about pampered. I got a full body massage yesterday and was it ever nice. Ummm, mmm, mmm… I feel like a new man.
It started off as just a normal day at the resort. I had finished my breakfast and was enjoying some hay on the patio when I noticed a strange car pull up the driveway. We don’t get many visitors—the occasional delivery truck and the farrier, but that is about it—so I was interested to see who it was. She didn’t smell like the vet, I thought. I was intrigued so I hung my head over the stall door and watched.
Oreo was already in the cross ties, the Short One had just finished vacuuming him. I have to tell you, he needed that vacuuming. That boy sure knows how to wallow in the mud!
The lady came in and she obviously knew Oreo. They had quite the discussion, catching up like long lost friends. I was a bit jealous when I realized he was getting a massage. That young whippersnapper gets all the attention. I got a little pouty and went back to my hay.
Shortly thereafter my mom appears. It is odd for her to visit so early in the morning. She came with a handful of carrots, so I was very happy to see her. Next thing I know, she has me out in the barn aisle and now I’m the one who is getting a good vacuuming. Could it be? I wondered. Am I getting a message too?
And sure enough, I was next! Nichole from Equi-Librium Therapy introduced herself. She was a very nice lady and seemed to understand exactly how to realign my poor shoulder and work those sore spots out of my back.
When you get a massage you can’t fight it, you just have to let go and relax, so I did. My mom is just the best!
Happy Thanksgiving, everyone! My advice to you is to do something nice for someone you love.
