Hi guys it's hot out there! It's been a while and a lot has changed! School started back up (I'm not very happy about that). I'm in the 5th grade now. Most importantly is that I got a new horse. He's a black and white paint named Dollar and he's awesome! He has really helped me with my roping and since I got him I've learned to leave the box and track the cow faster. Dad and mom say Dollar has given me a lot of confidence and is a great step up horse from... Read More »

On the Rodeo Trail

HI! I've had 4 rodeos since my last blog and I've been busy! KJRA has started again and there have been 2 rodeos so far. Yogi is busy growing his winter fur and we have been doing lots of practicing. I want to learn how to dally so I can team rope. Just this past weekend my dad headed some for me so I could heel, I caught and got to dally! We also have 2 new practice goats, Rick and Fred. The other 2 goats we practice with are named Lucy and Ethel. I have... Read More »

I’m Back!

Hi! I'm back! I'm so glad it's still summer break. Here's an update on what's been going on. The KJRA Finals went really good. I won 2 belt buckles!! One was for Dummy Roping Division 1B (which is grades 3, 4 and 5) and the other was a Hardest Worker buckle for raising a lot of money in sponsorships (at least $1000). I won a medal for 6th place in Goat Tying for division 1B and a really cool saddle pad that I use on my calf horse Hollywood. Finals was fun... Read More »

The buckles are for Dummy Roping (7-9 years), Drag Dummy Roping (7-9) & Drag Dummy Roping (10-12). My favorite buckle is for winning the Drag Dummy Roping in the 10-12 year old division, because I... Winter Update

This winter Yogi has spent the wet days covered in mud. He wears a turnout blanket that is muddy, just like his mane, tail and legs. He loves to roll outside. And chase our other horses around the paddock or pasture. Yogi thinks he is the boss. I have been practicing roping on the calf and steer head dummies, mostly on the calf. Speaking of calf dummy, for Christmas my Grandma got me a big plastic calf size dummy called "Charlie the Smart Dummy". My... Read More »

Hi everyone! Sorry this is a little late, but I'm new to blogging. I took Yogi to a KJRA rodeo on November 3rd & 4th in Liberty, KY. Actually my mom and dad took us and we got there late Friday night. I was so tired I fell asleep on the way there and went right in the trailer to bed as soon as we got there. My goal going into this rodeo was to get, and keep, Yogi loping in the Boys Goat Tying 1B, which is a timed event. Sometimes Yogi can be a little... Read More »
